Job summary

Mindteck is seeking an experienced Senior Kafka Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade Confluent Kafka platforms running on Kubernetes. The role focuses on hands-on CFK expertise, Kafka administration, and production troubleshooting to ensure high availability and scalability.

You will work with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Control Center, while managing Kubernetes networking, security, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform in production
• Experience with Confluent for Kubernetes or Confluent Operator
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking, security, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Control Center

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Confluent Kafka platforms on Kubernetes
• Design and manage production Kafka clusters for high availability and scalability

We are seeking a hands‑on professional with strong expertise in Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK), Kafka administration, Kubernetes networking, security, and production troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Confluent Kafka platforms using Confluent for Kubernetes.
• Design, implement, and manage production Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Manage Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Confluent Control Center.
• Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress/egress, storage classes, and persistent volumes.
• Implement Kafka security best practices, including ACLs, encryption, and authentication.
• Troubleshoot complex Kafka issues involving brokers, partitions, consumer groups, message throughput, and latency.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and logging for Kafka environments.
• Work with Linux, scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, and Python or Java.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams and provide shift‑based support when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform.
• Practical experience with Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK) or the Confluent Operator.
• Strong Kubernetes administration and networking knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Control Center.
• Knowledge of ingress/egress, storage classes, persistent volumes, and Kubernetes networking.
• Experience with Kafka security, ACLs, encryption, authentication, and production troubleshooting.
• Good Linux and scripting skills, with working knowledge of Python or Java.
• Strong problem‑solving and English communication skills.
