Job description

Senior Emulation Engineer

AMD’s VBU – Virtual Bring‑Up Central Methodology team is seeking a seasoned engineer to develop and support infrastructure for prototyping and emulation technology. The role focuses on enabling cutting‑edge designs through the "Shift Left" paradigm and involves collaborating across SOC and IP groups, EDA vendors, and VBU peers to advance methodology and practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient solutions targeting AMD emulation and prototyping efficiency.
• Work with EDA vendors to implement best practices for optimal flows.
• Develop solutions to track emulator workload execution performance for leading‑edge throughput.
• Evaluate, implement, and improve FPGA‑based technologies and platforms.
• Analyze and improve the multitude of data collected through emulation.
• Contribute to testbench development and improvement.
• Be a true part of the team, supporting a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Preferred Experience

• Background in emulation or prototyping, familiarity with flows and infrastructure.
• Development skills in Python, Perl, C/C++, Verilog, Unix shell, SystemVerilog, UVM.
• Proficiency in Unix environment; administrative level preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Other useful skills: Perforce, Git, Jenkins, ELK, PowerBI, VHDL.

Academic Credentials

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
