Job summary

Atain is seeking a hands-on Senior .NET/C# Developer to design, build, and scale cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with product owners and frontend teams in an Agile setting to deliver robust backend solutions.

The role focuses on RESTful APIs, microservices, and secure, high-performance software, with emphasis on unit testing, CI/CD, and cloud services. Remote in India with strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient C# code in .NET 6/7/8.

• Optimize performance with caching and profiling techniques.
• Implement unit testing (NUnit/xUnit) and participate in code reviews.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for deployments.
• Troubleshoot legacy systems and collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, high-performing Senior .NET / C# Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and scaling modern cloud-native applications hosted on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and frontend developers in an Agile environment to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code using modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6/7/8).
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and web applications integrated with cloud services.
• Design and implement cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure (utilizing services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and Key Vault).
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through optimization and caching strategies.
• Implement robust unit testing (using NUnit/xUnit) and participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality standards.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions) for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing legacy software systems.
• Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives within an Agile/Scrum framework.

Required Technical & Professional Skills

• Core Skills: Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core / .NET Framework.
• Cloud Platform: Hands-on enterprise experience with Microsoft Azure architecture, deployment, and cloud-native services (Azure App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Service Bus).
• Web Services: Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and Microservices architectures.
• Databases: Strong command over SQL Server / Entity Framework Core, database design, and performance tuning.
• DevOps & Tools: Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes is a plus).
• Practices: Clean code principles, design patterns, asynchronous programming, and automated unit testing.
• Soft Skills: Excellent English communication skills, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously in a remote setup.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate - AZ-204) are a strong plus.
