POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Director will function as the Head of Product Analytics and will provide strategic leadership in driving insights that shape the future of our personal loans business and broader product portfolio. Sitting at the intersection of product, risk, and business insights, this leader will develop & execute an analytics strategy that informs product roadmaps, optimizes omni‑channel engagement, and balances growth with risk management. The Senior Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, ensuring that data‑driven decision‑making fuels innovation and delivers meaningful customer impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and grow a high‑performing Product Analytics team, providing mentorship, career development, and clear direction.
  • Define and drive the analytics strategy to inform Oportun’s product vision, ensuring insights directly shape product roadmaps and customer experiences.
  • Partner with senior leaders in Product, Risk, Marketing, and Engineering to translate data into actionable strategies that balance growth, conversion, and risk.
  • Oversee advanced experimentation frameworks (e.g., A/B testing, causal inference) to measure product impact and guide investment decisions.
  • Develop executive‑ready reporting and dashboards to monitor business performance and communicate key trends to Oportun leadership.
  • Champion innovation by leveraging new data sources, tools, and methodologies to uncover opportunities for differentiation.
  • Represent Product Analytics across Oportun, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, customer focus, and collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, product strategy, or related fields, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience building and leading analytics teams, including managers and senior analysts.
  • Deep expertise in data analysis, experimentation, and business strategy, with mastery of SQL and proficiency in modern analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau, Looker).
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across functions.
  • Demonstrated success in applying analytics to shape product strategy at scale, preferably in financial services, fintech, or consumer technology.
