Job summary

AIBound in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Senior Director of AI to define and execute AI strategy, drive research and development in AI security, and lead a world-class AI/ML team working with engineering, product and customer teams to deliver secure AI products.

You will guide architecture, prototyping and production deployment while mentoring engineers, researchers and data scientists, and partnering with customers to translate insights into product direction at scale.

Qualifications

Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Director of AI will define and execute AIBound’s AI strategy, driving research and development in AI security and ensuring our products remain at the forefront of the industry. You will lead a world‑class AI and ML team, and partner with engineering, product and customer teams to deliver AI products that protect our customers’ AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Help define and execute AIBound's AI strategy as a key member of the leadership team, partnering directly with the CEO, Head of Engineering, Head of UI and team to align AI initiatives with product roadmap and business objectives
• Lead by example with hands‑on coding and architecture contributions, overseeing the design, development, and deployment of production AI systems that power AIBound's security scanning, testing, and protection capabilities
• Operate as a player‑coach, contributing directly to architecture, prototyping, code reviews, and production problem‑solving while mentoring a high‑performing team
• Partner directly with customers to validate AI capabilities, translate feedback into product direction, and accelerate iteration from concept to deployment
• Build and scale a high‑performing AI team in India, recruiting exceptional AI engineers, ML researchers, and data scientists while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
• Help drive research and development in AI security domains including model vulnerability detection, adversarial testing, AI red‑teaming, and agent risk assessment, staying at the forefront of emerging AI threats and attack vectors
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to translate AI capabilities into customer value, demonstrating strategic vision while remaining deeply hands‑on with technical problem‑solving and execution

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, with at least 4 years in leadership roles building and managing high‑performing technical teams
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field from a top‑tier institution; equivalent practical experience and a strong track record will also be considered
• Meaningful startup or early‑stage company experience, with a track record of thriving in fast‑paced environments
• Strong hands‑on coding skills with proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience architecting and deploying AI systems using advanced agentic frameworks such as LangChain or Google ADK, with strong context engineering skills to ensure reliable reasoning, tool use, and workflow execution in complex real‑world environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern MLOps practices
• Proven track record of building and deploying production AI systems at scale with demonstrated business impact
• Deep technical expertise in modern AI domains including LLMs, NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or generative AI
• Strategic mindset combined with tactical execution ability—comfortable defining vision and solving hard technical problems
