Job summary

Metantz is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to scale multi-cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and streamline CI/CD pipelines for SaaS and enterprise products.

You will implement IaC, platform governance, and security controls while collaborating with Engineering, Security, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and observable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years hands-on DevOps or Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in AWS and practical experience with Azure.
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.

Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform & Cloud Infra

We are currently sourcing experienced Senior DevOps Engineers for multiple high-growth startups building in SaaS, fintech, deeptech, and enterprise software spaces.

About The Role

Our client is an AI-native analytics company helping pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations unlock the value of their commercial and medical data. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for scaling and managing multi-cloud infrastructure that supports product engineering, client delivery, security, and developer productivity.

You will work across AWS and Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, platform governance, identity and security controls, and shared engineering tools. You will collaborate with Engineering, Security, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure infrastructure remains scalable, secure, reliable, and reproducible.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure

• Build, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Design and maintain scalable, multi-account AWS environments.
• Manage networking, databases, caching, DNS, KMS, and other shared services.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and support deployments across Dev, QA, and Production environments.

CI/CD and Automation

• Build and maintain reusable GitHub Actions workflows and deployment pipelines.
• Automate build, testing, release, and deployment processes.
• Support Docker-based application delivery and release automation.
• Standardize CI/CD practices and improve developer productivity across teams.

Security and Governance

• Implement least-privilege IAM policies and cloud governance controls.
• Maintain OIDC-based workload identity federation and secure deployment practices.
• Support audit logging, compliance evidence collection, and governance automation.
• Enforce infrastructure and pipeline security standards.

Developer Experience And Platform Enablement

• Build self-service platform capabilities for engineering teams.
• Improve developer workflows, pre-commit tooling, and code quality automation.
• Establish internal platform standards and engineering best practices.
• Support trunk-based development and modern release management.

Reliability and Operations

• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and cloud costs.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and deployment issues.
• Implement backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Maintain highly available production infrastructure and shared services.

Required Qualifications

• 6–9 years of hands‑on experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, preferably in a product or SaaS environment.
• Strong expertise in AWS infrastructure and practical experience with Azure cloud services.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, containerization, Linux, and scripting using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with IAM, RBAC, ABAC, and cloud security best practices.
• Good understanding of networking, DNS, VPCs, load balancing, and cloud architecture.
• Understanding of OIDC federation and credential‑less deployment patterns.
• Experience with enterprise security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
• Strong systems‑thinking skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal developer platforms from scratch.
• Experience managing multi-tenant or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Familiarity with identity and authentication technologies such as JWT, RS256, RBAC, MFA, and Casbin.
• Exposure to Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical technology, life sciences, healthcare, or health data products.
