Qualifications

• 8–12 years of IT experience with 5+ years in DevOps/Platform Engineering.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, IaC, containerization, monitoring, and security integration.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD and Release Automation: design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, deployment, and release management.
• Automate deployments across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
• Implement release strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling upgrades.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and environment issues.
• Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering: design, provision, and manage cloud infra on AWS/Azure or client platform; automate provisioning with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
• Manage cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, secrets, and environment configuration; support hybrid-cloud/on-prem integrations.
• Containerization and Platform Engineering: build and manage Docker/Kubernetes-based apps; support EKS/AKS/OpenShift as applicable.
• DevSecOps and Security: integrate security into CI/CD and infra provisioning; automated vulnerability scans; least-privilege, secrets mgmt, encryption.

Position Overview

Ness is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable application delivery and infrastructure automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, monitoring, and DevSecOps practices.

The successful candidate will collaborate with application development, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve software delivery speed, system reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with enterprise security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• CI/CD and Release Automation
• Design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for application build, testing, deployment, and release management.
• Implement and manage pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.
• Automate application deployments across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
• Implement release strategies such as blue-green deployments, canary releases, and rolling upgrades where applicable.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment issues, and environment-related problems.

• Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or the cloud platform used by the client.

• Establish reusable deployment patterns and platform automation standards.
• DevSecOps and Security
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning workflows.
• Implement automated vulnerability scanning, dependency checks, container image scanning, and code security checks.
• Apply least-privilege access, secrets management, encryption, and secure configuration practices.
• Support audit readiness, change controls, evidence collection, and compliance requirements applicable to financial services.
• Collaborate with security and risk teams to remediate vulnerabilities and address infrastructure risks.

• Monitoring, Observability, and Reliability
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing for applications and infrastructure.
• Work with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent platforms.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
• Improve system availability, performance, resiliency, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Establish and monitor service-level indicators, service-level objectives, and operational metrics.
• Automation and Scripting
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks, environment provisioning, deployment validation, and incident remediation.
• Integrate APIs and automation frameworks to streamline engineering workflows.
• Maintain reusable scripts, modules, templates, and engineering documentation.
• Collaboration and Technical Leadership
• Partner with software engineers, architects, QA, security, and production support teams.
• Participate in design reviews, release planning, change management, and incident management.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks in software delivery and recommend continuous improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
