Job summary

GSPANN in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead design, implement, and operate scalable cloud platforms powering RFID-driven Inventory Intelligence.

You will drive automation, reliability, and velocity, mentor engineers, and champion best practices across teams, with responsibilities spanning CI/CD, AWS, IaC, observability, incident response, and security.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Experience with GitOps practices and tools (ArgoCD, or similar).
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Strong scripting/programming skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration preferably Kubernetes.
• Interest in applying AI-driven solutions to enhance automation, observability and operational efficiency.

Job description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the RFID team, you will lead design, implementation, and operation of scalable, secure and highly reliable cloud platforms that power our RFID-driven Inventory Intelligence systems. These systems support real-time inventory visibility across large-scale operations.

You will drive automation, platform reliability and engineering velocity, while shaping DevOps strategy, mentoring engineers, and championing best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. CI/CD Pipeline Management

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Enable fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments across multiple environments
• Drive adoption of modern deployment strategies (e.g., blue/green, canary releases)

2. Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

• Architect and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance and cost optimization
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives for reusable infrastructure components

3. Automation & Developer Productivity

• Identify and eliminate manual processes through automation
• Build tools and frameworks to improve developer efficiency and self-service capabilities
• Promote DevOps and GitOps practices across engineering teams

4. Monitoring, Observability & Reliability Engineering

• Design and implement observability solutions (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Define and manage SLAs, SLOs and SLIs to ensure system reliability
• Establish alerting, dashboards and proactive monitoring practices
• Drive continuous improvements in system performance and uptime

5. Production Support & Incident Management

• Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
• Implement long-term fixes to prevent recurring issues
• Champion reliability engineering principles and reduce operational toil

6. Security, Compliance & DevSecOps

• Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Manage IAM roles, secrets, and access controls
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership in DevOps and cloud architecture decisions
• Partner with engineering, QA, product, and platform teams to deliver RFID roadmap initiatives
• Drive adoption of enterprise level DevOps best practices

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)

• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, etc.)
• Experience with event streaming (Kafka)
• Familiarity with API gateways (KONG) or CDN tools (Akamai)
• Exposure to eCommerce, retail, or inventory management platforms
• Demonstrated curiosity and passion for exploring emerging technologies including AI/ML
