Job summary

Esko in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, operate, and continuously improve the cloud platform behind our SaaS offerings.

You will own hands-on work across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, and observability, collaborating with software and platform teams to improve releases.

The role emphasizes automation, self-service tooling, security, high availability, and scalable production readiness for global customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, cloud infra, platform engineering, SRE, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience.
• Deep CI/CD & release automation with GitFlow, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, Helm in production.
• Scripting with Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog.
• Networking, DNS, IAM, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Diagnose complex production issues and drive resolution.
• Cross-team ownership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve CI/CD pipelines for frequent, reliable releases.
• Build and maintain IaC for AWS environments using Terraform or similar.
• Deploy and operate production workloads with Kubernetes and cloud-native tech.
• Improve observability and reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and RCAs.
• Partner with engineering to improve reliability, scalability, performance, and production readiness.
• Strengthen security and resilience via IAM, secrets management, governance, HA, backups, and DR.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, operate, and continuously improve the cloud infrastructure and delivery capabilities behind Esko’s cloud platform.

This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and operational problems through automation. You will work across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and reliability while partnering closely with software and platform engineering teams to improve how services are built, released, and operated..

You will also help improve the developer experience by making infrastructure and deployment capabilities more automated, repeatable, and self‑service.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and evolve CI/CD pipelines that enable frequent, reliable, and automated software releases.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code for AWS environments using Terraform or similar technologies.
• Deploy and operate production workloads using Kubernetes and cloud‑native technologies, automating infrastructure and operational workflows wherever possible.
• Improve observability and operational reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, troubleshooting, incident response, and root‑cause analysis.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, performance, deployment quality, and production readiness.
• Strengthen security and resilience through IAM, secrets management, cloud governance, high availability, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
• Build reusable tooling and self‑service capabilities that improve developer productivity, while raising engineering standards through hands‑on technical leadership and mentoring.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or related engineering roles.
• Strong hands‑on experience building and operating production workloads on AWS.
• Deep experience with CI/CD and release automation using GitFlow, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and containerized production environments .
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages .
• Experience implementing observability across metrics, logs, and distributed tracing , using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or equivalent platforms .
• Solid understanding of networking, DNS, certificates, IAM, secrets management, Linux, and cloud security fundamentals .
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex production and infrastructure problems and drive them through resolution.
• Strong engineering ownership and ability to work effectively across software, platform, and infrastructure teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating multi‑tenant SaaS platforms at scale.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, self‑service infrastructure, reusable deployment patterns, or developer tooling.
• Exposure to cloud security automation, vulnerability management, compliance controls, and governance.
• Experience designing for high availability, disaster recovery, resilience, and production operability.
• Experience communicating technical trade‑offs, documenting decisions, and influencing engineering teams through practical guidance
• AWS certification or equivalent depth of practical AWS experience.
