Job summary

Assystem seeks a Senior SAP BTP Developer to lead cloud-native SAP BTP extensions on CAP, Node.js, and Java. You will drive architecture, development, and integration while following Best Practices like Clean Core and API-first design.

Role requires hands-on coding, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior developers in a globally distributed delivery team. Fluent English required for international collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a SAP BTP Developer or similar technical role.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud extension development.
• Fluent English is mandatory due to daily collaboration with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SAP BTP extensions using the SAP CAP with Node.js and/or Java.
• Develop cloud-native applications following SAP Clean Core and Side-by-Side Extensibility principles.
• Design and implement RESTful and OData APIs.
• Build event-driven applications and integrations using SAP BTP services.
• Develop SAP Fiori/UI5 applications where required.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Job Description

Join Assystem’s transformation programme as a Senior SAP BTP Developer and play a key role in delivering innovative cloud‑native solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). As a senior hands‑on developer, you will serve as the technical authority for SAP BTP within the delivery team, working under the guidance of the ATP Technical Authority. You will actively contribute to solution architecture, application development, system integration, and technical delivery while ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, including Clean Core, Side‑by‑Side Extensibility, and an API‑First approach.

Key Responsibilities

Hands‑on Architecture & Development

• Design, develop, and implement SAP BTP extensions using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) with Node.js and/or Java.
• Develop cloud‑native applications following SAP Clean Core and Side‑by‑Side Extensibility principles.
• Design and implement RESTful and OData APIs.
• Build event‑driven applications and integrations using SAP BTP services.
• Develop SAP Fiori/UI5 applications where required.
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership within the development team.
• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices.
• Support solution design and technical decision‑making.
• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Ensure alignment with SAP architecture guidelines and development standards.

Integration (Nice to have)

• Develop integrations using SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration (CPI) and API Management.
• Design secure, scalable, and reusable interfaces between SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and third‑party applications.
• Support API‑first integration strategies and event‑driven architectures.

Delivery & DevOps

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Ensure solution quality through testing, validation, and performance optimization.
• Participate actively in integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployments.
• Support release management and continuous improvement initiatives.
