Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with significant experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, software design, and continuous software delivery in Windows/Linux development environments using open source tools and platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with build environments, delivery pipelines, test automation, and continuous integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex code based on functional specifications; design algorithms and translate requirements into design specifications.
• Perform complex peer code reviews; assess broader impact of changes and influence technical direction.
• Test code to verify it meets specifications; create and apply automated tests within CI pipelines.
• Influence and lead team standards, processes, and events including planning, estimation, reviews, and design discussions.
• Research escalations for production issues to ensure stability and compliance with practices and regulations.
• Mentor and coach team members; propose improvements and contribute to product documentation.

About the Role

The Senior Developer is responsible for the overall performance of the product by applying principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software. This role ensures the timely delivery of high-quality software within release timelines and guidelines, while providing technical mentorship and influencing engineering standards across the team.

• Develop complex code based on functional specifications; complete logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards, translating software requirements into clear and precise design specifications.
• Perform complex peer code reviews and analysis; provide insight on the broader impact of software changes while incorporating business value and influencing technical direction for other team members.
• Test code to verify it meets technical specifications and is working as intended; create and apply automated tests and test principles to software changes, including unit tests.
• Influence and lead team standards, processes, and events — including planning, work estimation, solution demos, reviews, and implementation design discussions.
• Research complex escalations for production issues or software code issues to ensure application stability; implement development standards to ensure compliance with product and industry practices and regulations.
• Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members; make recommendations for internal process improvements and product documentation based on a thorough understanding of business applications and coding tasks.
