Job summary

Barclays in Pune is seeking a Senior Developer to drive the evolution of our data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data lakes and data warehouses, ensuring scalable, secure delivery of digital solutions.

You will work with AWS services, Hadoop components, SQL proficiency and Scala/Python programming, and contribute to ETL design and large-scale data system implementations in collaboration with data scientists.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS data services (S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS) and data pipelines.
• Distributed computing architecture with Hadoop components (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Impala).
• Strong SQL skills and programming/scripting (Scala/Python).
• ETL technologies experience, preferably Ab Initio.
• Experience designing ETL/Hadoop/AWS components and data warehouses.

Responsibilities

Join us as a Senior Developer at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Senior Developer ,you should have experience with:

• AWS hands on with S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Athena, data pipelines, step function and knowledge of Analytical services.
• Experience of distributed computing architecture, Core Hadoop components (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, HIVE, Impala).
• Expertise in SQL, advanced SQL skills.
• Expertise in shell scripting and programming (Scala/Python).
• Knowledge of ETL technologies preferably Ab Initio.
• Experience of Technical Design for ETL/Hadoop/AWS components.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
