Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a BIM Modeler/CAD Drafter to provide drafting and modeling support for HVAC services. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential, with 7+ years of BIM oversight experience. The role emphasizes creating Revit families, CAD blocks, and supporting design coordination and clash detection, with a hybrid work setup and a focus on delivering accurate, timely drawings.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of Revit experience plus two+ years of AutoCAD experience.
• Understanding of MEP Systems.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit and related BIM software.
• Legacy CAD applications and practices including AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Design Visualization applications such as Autodesk 360, 3D Studio Max and Navisworks.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise, MicroStation Echo Sim 3D and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drafting/BIM modeling and design support.
• Coordinate and manage Revit models.
• Create Revit families and CAD blocks.
• Review work for completeness and accuracy.
• Observe QA/QC checklists and meet deadlines.
• Manage time entries with descriptions weekly.
• Assist in design coordination/clash detection meetings.
• Assemble composite design models for coordination meetings.
• Coordinate BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submittals.

Your impact

Description

Jacobs is seeking a BIM Modeler/ CAD Drafter, who will provide drafting and modeling support for HVAC service. This position requires proficiency in Autodesk software, specifically AutoCAD and Revit. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years- experience providing BIM execution oversight, model management, model QC and VDC support. Knowledge of plumbing and Fire fighting service modelling will be an added advantage.

Daily Duties/Tasks

• Sizing of HVAC ducts and Pipe along with routing.
• Space Planning of HVAC Equipment’s.
• Co-ordination with other disciplines.
• Modelling of Plumbing and Fire Fighting Service.
• Provide CAD drafting/BIM modeling and design support
• Coordinate and manage Revit models
• Create Revit families and CAD blocks.
• Obtain work assignments of either specific design elements or CAD drafting from project managers
• Review all work for completeness and accuracy
• Use checklists set-up for quality control on each project and submit work according to deadlines.
• Provide an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry on a weekly basis
• Complete printing and plotting requests
• Observe professional ethics
• Demonstrate proactive approach to learning of new digital design tools

Additional Responsibilities Are As Follows

• Ensures compliance with the approved BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plans
• Setting up project base files
• Assemble composite design models for coordination meetings
• Facilitate use of composite design models in design coordination/clash detection meetings and provides detection reports by the identification and resolution of all hard and soft collisions
• Coordinate BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submittals.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of Revit experience plus two+ years of AutoCAD experience.
• Understanding of MEP Systems
• Knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit and related Building Information Modeling software
• Solid understanding of legacy CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Design Visualization applications such as Autodesk 360 (Cloud Rendering), 3D Studio Max and Navisworks.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise, MicroStation Echo Sim 3D and Bluebeam Software’s.

• Ability to articulately convey (verbally, visually, graphically) digital design concepts to design and delivery professionals with varying levels of understanding

• Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide ongoing education and support to Revit project teams
• Punctuality.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines.
• Possess a strong work ethic.
• Experience on Hospitality (Malls, Hotels, Residential, High Rise Building, Mixed Use projects), Healthcare, Aviation and Rail Sector will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with Middle East region is an added advantage
