Job summary

Danfoss GmbH in Pune, India, is seeking a Senior Designer to support product customization, engineering change management, and design documentation while adhering to Danfoss standards and customer requirements.

You will develop 3D models and drawings, manage changes in PLM/PDM systems, and apply GD&T to ensure manufacturability. Collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams is essential for NPD and VA/VE initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in product customization, mechanical design, or engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as NX, Creo/Pro-E, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter, Enovia, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes.
  • Good understanding of ASME and ISO engineering standards.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, and inspection.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with exposure to Root Cause Analysis and 8D methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Execute product customization requests and create engineering documentation to support customers, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
  • Develop and maintain 3D models, component drawings, and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME, ISO, and Danfoss standards.
  • Manage engineering change requests and maintain accurate product data, revisions, and documentation within PLM/PDM systems.
  • Apply GD&T principles and support tolerance analysis to ensure robust and manufacturable designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement design improvements and change requests.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), and product enhancement initiatives through CAD design activities.
  • Perform design quality checks to ensure engineering deliverables meet customer, regulatory, and Danfoss requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering documentation, design processes, and change management tools.
  • Support technical analysis and problem-solving activities related to hydraulic products and components.
  • Deliver engineering assignments with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and on-time completion.

The Impact You'll Make

As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for supporting product customization, engineering change management, and design documentation activities while ensuring compliance with Danfoss engineering standards, customer requirements, quality expectations, and delivery commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

  • Exposure to New Product Development (NPD) and VA/VE projects.
  • Familiarity with Lean, DMAIC, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and tooling design processes
