Job summary

Dover India in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Design Engineer II with 7–10 years of experience to lead refrigeration rack system design. You will develop 3D models, manufacturing drawings and BOMs, ensuring GD&T compliance and tolerances meet stringent specs.

Role involves DFMEA/DFM/FEA, validation planning, and occasional shop-floor collaboration to resolve design and manufacturing issues. SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Resolve design/manufacturing issues; hands-on on the shop floor as required.
• Ensure drawings meet GD&T and tolerance requirements for robust designs.

Position: Senior Design Engineer II

Exp: 7 - 10 Years

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design of custom refrigeration rack systems. This includes design of refrigerated rack system involving rack structure, component assembly, piping, control panel, Sheetmetal and detailed drawings based on sales orders for refrigeration systems in Solidworks.
• Generate customer Submittals and Manufacturing drawings of refrigeration system products as per ANSI, ASTM standards. Manage drawing creation, approval, and release through EPDM systems, ensuring version control and traceability.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance manufacturability and cost efficiency. Conduct DFMEA and DVPR to arrive a validation plan and ensure design meets specifications. Validate designs through FEA simulation and technical reviews.
• Resolve product or manufacturing problems on major product lines individually or as part of a group as job duties require. Hands-on work on shop floor, as job requires.
• Ensure drawings meets GD&T and Tolerance requirements. Ensure design robustness through simulation, structural and thermal validation, and functional testing.

Must Have Skills

• Expertise in sheet metal and weldment design, strong structural and Refrigeration system design knowledge, Ability to develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal and weldment assemblies.
• Design processes knowledge - DFMEA, DFM/DFA, FEA, GD&T, and Tolerance stack up. Follow the Product Engineering process. Re-design old products to improve manufacturing and decrease cost.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Ability to read and interpret the Engineering drawings and convert 2D to 3D and vice verse swiftly.
• Ability to effectively problem-solve using tools and techniques like A3, root cause analysis, 5-why's). Should have Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player and independent contributor. Six sigma and CSWP certifications would be an added advantage.
