Job summary

Genpact is seeking a Senior Databricks Architect to design and deliver enterprise-scale Lakehouse solutions for global clients. You will own Databricks architecture, data pipelines, and governance while guiding data modernization and GenAI enablement.

The role combines deep technical ownership with client-facing leadership across multi-cloud environments, driving scalable, secure data platforms and cost governance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data engineering/architecture
• 3+ years hands-on with Databricks in production environments
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala) and Delta Lake
• Experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Databricks integrations
• Proven client-facing delivery experience (workshops, reviews, exec presentations)
• Strong SQL and data modeling; CI/CD for data pipelines
• Databricks Certified Professional
• Experience with data mesh/data product architectures on Databricks
• Exposure to GenAI/LLM workloads on Lakehouse
• Consulting or SI background with multi-client delivery

• Design and own end-to-end Lakehouse architecture on Databricks across AWS/Azure/GCP
• Lead client discovery, solutioning, and technical presentations
• Architect data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads (Spark Structured Streaming, Auto Loader, Kafka)
• Define standards for data governance, security, and access control using Unity Catalog
• Guide MLOps and GenAI enablement on Databricks (MLflow, Feature Store, Vector Search)
• Partner with client stakeholders to define migration strategy from legacy warehouses to Databricks
• Own performance tuning, cluster optimization, and cost governance
• Mentor engineering teams on Databricks best practices; act as escalation point
• Support pre-sales, solutioning, and RFP responses with Databricks architectures

Senior Databricks Architect will design and deliver enterprise-scale Lakehouse solutions for global clients. This role combines deep technical ownership of the Databricks platform with client-facing leadership driving data modernization, AI/ML enablement, and platform adoption across client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and own end-to-end Lakehouse architecture on Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, Workflows) across AWS/Azure/GCP
• Lead client discovery, solutioning, and technical presentations to translate business requirements into scalable Databricks architectures
• Architect data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads (Spark Structured Streaming, Auto Loader, Kafka integration)
• Define standards for data governance, security, and access control using Unity Catalog and platform-native tools
• Guide MLOps and GenAI enablement on Databricks (MLflow, Feature Store, Vector Search, Model Serving)
• Partner with client stakeholders to define migration strategy from legacy warehouses/on-prem platforms to Databricks
• Own performance tuning, cluster optimization, and cost governance (DBU optimization, cluster policies)
• Mentor engineering teams on Databricks best practices; act as technical escalation point for client engagements
• Support pre-sales, solutioning, and RFP responses with Databricks-specific architecture and effort estimation

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years in data engineering/architecture, with 3+ years hands-on with Databricks in production environments
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala), Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture patterns
• Experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Databricks' native integrations on that platform
• Proven track record of client-facing delivery — workshops, architecture reviews, executive presentations
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills; experience with CI/CD for data pipelines (Databricks Asset Bundles, Repos)
• Databricks Certified Professional
• Experience with data mesh/data product architectures on Databricks
• Exposure to GenAI/LLM workloads (RAG pipelines, vector databases) on Lakehouse
• Consulting or systems integrator background with multi-client delivery experience
