Job summary

Katalon, founded in 2016, is a leader in AI-augmented software testing. We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to own our production PostgreSQL/AWS Aurora environments, with relocation support to Vietnam.

You will run ~10 production clusters, partner with our Vietnam team on performance, security, and upgrades, and leverage Oracle skills as applicable. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years as a DBA/Database Engineer, strong troubleshooting, and expertise in HA/replication, backup/recovery, and

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer / DBA to own Katalon’s production database environment, with a primary focus on PostgreSQL / AWS Aurora.

You will manage approximately 10 production database clusters hosting customer data on AWS, working closely with our Engineering team in Vietnam on database performance, reliability, architecture, security, and future upgrades.

We are open to strong Oracle DBA profiles with solid cross-database fundamentals and the ability to work with PostgreSQL/Aurora.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain production PostgreSQL / AWS Aurora databases.

Troubleshoot and resolve performance, availability, locking, concurrency, and query issues.

Perform query tuning, indexing, and database performance optimization.

Design databases and schemas for new customer workloads.

Manage high availability, replication, backup/recovery, and failover.

Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and Enhanced Monitoring.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in DBA / Database Engineering.

Strong experience with production database administration and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of performance tuning, SQL, indexing, HA/replication, backup & recovery, and database security.

Experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora OR Oracle.

Strong understanding of database architecture and operational best practices.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Technology

Oracle profiles are welcome: Candidates with strong Oracle DBA experience and transferable database fundamentals are encouraged to apply. Experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora or Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration is a plus.

Nice to Have

Experience with both Oracle and PostgreSQL.

Experience supporting customer-facing SaaS production environments.
