Job summary

Latinem seeks a Senior Database Administrator for onsite work in Hyderabad. The role covers managing production database platforms across on-premises and Microsoft Azure, ensuring installation, performance, availability, backup/recovery, and security.

Responsibilities include installing, upgrading, patching, and patching SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL; implementing HA/DR; planning backups and DR drills; tuning performance; securing databases; and supporting on‑premises to Azure migrations

Qualifications

• Experience administering SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Strong HA/DR implementation using Always On, log shipping, replication or clustering.
• Proficient backup, restore and point-in-time recovery with regular DR drills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch and secure SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Ensure HA/DR using Always On, log shipping, replication and clustering.
• Plan and execute backups, PITR and DR drills; monitor and tune performance.
• Manage security: logins, roles, permissions, TDE, auditing, and compliance.
• Administer Azure SQL Database, SQL MI, SQL Server on Azure VMs and Azure PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Support on-premises to Azure migrations; configure geo-replication and failover groups.
• Automate routine tasks with T-SQL, PowerShell, Bash or Python; handle incidents and RCA.

Key Skills:

SQL Server and advanced T-SQL; PostgreSQL / MySQL (Oracle a plus); HA/DR (Always On AG, log shipping, replication, clustering); backup, restore and PITR; performance tuning; Azure SQL DB, SQL MI, SQL Server on Azure VMs (2+ years Azure); TDE and auditing; migrations and upgrades; PowerShell, Bash, Python; Windows and Linux.

Key Responsibilities:

• Role: Manage, secure, and optimise production database platforms across on-premises and Microsoft Azure, covering installation, performance, availability, backup and recovery, and security.

Key responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade and patch SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL (Oracle exposure a plus)
• Ensure HA/DR using Always on Availability Groups, log shipping, replication, and clustering
• Plan and execute backup, restore, point-in-time recovery and regular DR drills
• Tune performance through query optimisation, indexing, execution plans, and wait-stat analysis
• Manage security: logins, roles, permissions, TDE encryption, auditing, and compliance
• Administer Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure VMs and Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL
• Support on premises to Azure migrations; configure geo-replication, failover groups, and Azure Monitor
• Automate routine tasks with T-SQL, PowerShell, Bash or Python; support incidents, RCA, and on-call

Preferred:

DP-300; SQL Server, Oracle (OCA/OCP) or PostgreSQL certifications; AZ-900 / AZ-104; regulated environments (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
