Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery in Bengaluru invites a Senior Staff Data Scientist to drive design, experimentation and delivery of advanced ML solutions for media intelligence and localization.

You turn research into scalable, production-ready ML systems with measurable impact. The role demands hands-on expertise in applied ML, statistics and evaluation, leading end-to-end Gen AI powered media processing, localization like captions, translation and dubbing, and mentoring a team of data scientists and ML

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production-grade ML solutions.

Roles and responsibilities

The Staff Data Scientist will serve as a individual contributor driving the design, experimentation, and delivery of advanced machine learning solutions for media intelligence and localization use cases. This role defines modeling approaches that advance the state of the art, and turns research into scalable, production-ready ML systems with measurable product and customer impact. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on expertise in applied machine learning, statistical analysis, and evaluation methodologies and drive innovation through data‑informed decision‑making.

Your Role Accountabilities

Lead end-to-end design and delivery of production-grade Gen AI based Media processing systems that supports language localization capabilities like Closed Captioning, Language translation, or Dubbing. Lead data science experimentation by designing experiments, defining success metrics, iterating on model improvements, and transitioning validated approaches into scalable production ML pipelines. Establish and operate robust production evaluation frameworks, covering model quality, drift detection, inference performance, and system-level metrics with and without ground truth. Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Applied data scientist, Machine Learning Engineers, setting clear technical direction, delivery standards, and career development paths. Motivate, inspire and create a culture of experimentation and data-driven innovation while constantly striving to be an advocate for doing what is right for our customers.

What to Bring

• 8+ years total experience of building production grade machine learning solutions
• Experience in designing machine learning driven, large-scale distributed systems with large scale customer base
• Good practical knowledge in modern machine learning lifecycle.
• Ability to technically collaborate with partners
• Good understanding of machine learning platform
• Preferred: PhD, or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML or related fields.
• 3+ hands‑on experience in any one of following fields: Computer Vision, ASR, Translation or Text-to-Speech technologies.
• Working experience with global teams
• Experience in patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journals
