Senior Data Scientist – Visa Consulting & Analytics – India & South Asia

Using expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves strategic problems for our clients.
The India & South Asia (INSA) Consulting Market team provides consulting and solution services for Visa’s largest issuers in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan & Maldives. As part of the VCA Data Science geographic team cluster, the Senior Data Scientist will deliver data science and analytics solutions to Visa clients, supporting the development and implementation of analytics-driven strategies and high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver data science solutions for India and South Asia clients using Visa data, driving measurable business outcomes.
- Develop and scale innovative data products for issuers, acquirers, and merchants, including bespoke and standardized offerings.
- Champion Generative AI adoption to transform workflows, boost efficiency, and accelerate project delivery.
- Collaborate with Singapore and Bangalore teams to ensure client requirements are met with scalable solutions.
- Communicate actionable insights and recommendations to clients and stakeholders with clarity.
- Maintain high standards for deliverables, ensuring consistency, quality, and thorough documentation.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Scope client requirements end-to-end and identify opportunities for innovation using diverse data sources.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
- or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field from a top‑tier institution.
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- At least five years of experience conducting quantitative, data-driven analysis.
- Proficiency in Hive, SQL, Python, Spark, PowerPoint, Tableau and Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills and proven ability to address complex business challenges using data-driven solutions.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Highly self‑motivated, with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and advance projects independently.
- Proven track record of full accountability for end‑to‑end deliverables, with minimal supervision required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% or more as required by business needs.
- Prior experience or exposure to the payments and/or banking industry.
- Experience in consulting space or matrix team structure.
