Job summary

Zorba AI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in data science, ML, Generative AI, and agentic AI. You will build and deploy LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, and AI-driven solutions while leveraging strong statistical foundations.

You will design GenAI applications, implement agentic workflows, and perform prompt engineering, evaluation, and guardrail implementation. You will collaborate with engineers and business teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and ML algorithms.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications and GenAI solutions.
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Experience with tool-calling, multi-step reasoning, and orchestration in GenAI.
• Client-facing or mentoring experience is a plus.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with strong expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI. The candidate should have hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, and AI-driven solutions while possessing a strong foundation in statistics and classical machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop GenAI applications, including enterprise chatbots, knowledge assistants, document intelligence, and AI automation solutions.
• Build end-to-end RAG pipelines involving document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, reranking, and context generation.
• Implement Agentic AI workflows using tool calling, multi-step reasoning, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop mechanisms.
• Work on prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, and LLM evaluation.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure response quality, accuracy, relevance, and hallucination rates.
• Implement LLM guardrails, prompt-injection protection, and responsible AI practices.
• Apply statistical analysis, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and predictive machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver scalable, production-ready AI solutions.

Mandatory Skills

• Python & Data Science: Strong Python programming with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, statistics, probability, and machine learning.
• Generative AI & LLMs: Hands-on experience with LLMs, Transformers, prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, and LLM evaluation.
• RAG & Vector Databases: Practical experience with RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, retrieval, and reranking.
• Agentic AI: Understanding of agentic workflows, tool use, multi-step reasoning, and orchestration using LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Cloud Vertex AI.
• LLM evaluation, hallucination mitigation, guardrails, and responsible AI.
• Experience deploying enterprise-grade AI/ML applications.
• Client-facing consulting experience and mentoring junior team members.

Candidate Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI application development.
• Strong fundamentals in statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Graduates from Tier 1/Tier 2 colleges preferred.
• Master's degree or GenAI certifications are an added advantage.
