Job Summary

The role requires building models using advanced statistical, AI and machine learning techniques for enabling a unique personalized experience that helps end consumers to make quick decisions on content consumption. Forecasting / predicting the content preferences based on the rich diverse content that varies from live sports to VOD content on the platform. Better performing recommendation engines that can optimize on not just simple outcome metrics but complex state machines and funnel conversions like user LTV.

About the team

The Central Analytics team is embedded within various business & product teams in a matrix structure to be a thought partner and provide comprehensive data insights to drive strategic decisions. This team is the strategic enabler for JioHotstar’s content and marketing functions. In a world where consumers have endless entertainment choices, we help decode how they spend their time and why. At the core, we analyze consumer behavior, content preferences, and evolving entertainment needs. We design and leverage experiments, apply GenAI for innovative problem‑solving, and build analytical frameworks that guide key decisions. Our goal: to keep teams sharp, informed, and focused on the KPIs and drivers that truly matter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that help define and execute data‑driven strategies for the Ads platform
  • Design, develop, and deploy statistical models, machine learning algorithms, generative AI models, and predictive analytics to optimize ad targeting, improve campaign performance, and maximize revenue
  • Integrate machine learning models into production systems to deliver real‑time insights and automated decision‑making capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Data Engineering, Product Management, Ad Tech, and Business teams, to understand business challenges and deploy end‑to‑end solutions
  • Continuously evaluate and improve data quality and model performance to ensure consistent, reliable, and accurate insights
  • Develop and execute A/B testing frameworks and experimental designs to validate algorithmic improvements and quantify business impact
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and proactively incorporate cutting‑edge techniques into models and the Ads platform
  • Present findings, methodologies, and business impact of data science initiatives to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Skills & Attributes for Success
  • Proven experience in data science and machine learning
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Expertise in building and deploying machine learning models into production systems
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) Deep understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques
  • Should be comfortable leveraging LLMs and internals
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into data science solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelors/Masters in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with 4-7 years of experience in data science
