Job summary

eBay is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build and scale shipping intelligence solutions. You will apply ML, DL, NLP and LLM techniques to optimize logistics, dates, costs, and carrier networks at global scale.

You will partner with product managers, engineers and researchers to deploy data-driven models into production, turning complex findings into actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams and driving measurable improvements across eBay's shipping ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6 Years experience in analytics, data science role.
• Proficiency in SQL & Python for data wrangling, analytics, and automation.
• Experience in ML, DL, NLP and LLM solutions at large production scale.
• Ability to turn findings into actionable recommendations for Product, AI, and Engineering teams.
• Hands-on AI/LLM experience with prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Ability to define metrics and evaluation frameworks for ML models.
• Startup DNA: high agency and cross-functional collaboration.

• AI/LLM Experience – Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for AI-powered insights (Preferred)
• Model Evaluation Know-How – Ability to define metrics and evaluation frameworks for assessing ML-driven taxonomy and classification models
• Startup DNA – High agency, thrive in fast-paced, iterative environments with deep cross-functional collaboration
