Job summary

Elanco Animal Health is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Global Analytics & Insights team. You will deliver advanced analytics to optimize promotional spend, evaluate ROI, and translate data into strategic insights for business performance and customer value.

You will collaborate with global partners on program design and deploy models using Python/R, Tableau, and Azure ML, while communicating findings effectively to stakeholders. Bangalore-based role with cross-functional exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative or management; master’s preferred.
• 4+ years in Data Science, Commercial Effectiveness.
• Expertise in statistical modelling: A/B testing, regression, clustering, classification, forecasting.

Your Role:

Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of the Global Analytics & Insights team within Corporate Strategy to deliver advanced analytics solutions that optimize promotional spend and program design. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing predictive models, evaluating marketing ROI, and collaborating with global partners to drive high-impact commercial effectiveness. You will translate complex data into actionable strategic insights to enhance future business performance and customer value.

Your Responsibilities:

• This role supports the needs of the Global Analytics & Insights team, part of the Corporate Strategy Team, with a focus on providing Advanced Analytics (to include statistical modeling, regression analyses, market basket, churn modelling methods) to work on program/promotion design and ROI post program.
• Additional project-based work around price elasticity, mixed market modelling, segmentation, game theory modelling and predictive analytics (e.g., customer lifetime value) will be in scope.
• The overarching goal of all work will be to find efficiencies in current promotional spend and optimize future business activities This position is responsible for managing all aspects of project-based analyses including data preparation, analysis design and implementation using appropriate methods.
• Collaboration with Strategic Analytics and Descriptive Analytics team members to provide data-driven insights and influence promotional effectiveness to drive optimal business outcomes.
• Participation in readout and review with internal customers.
• Consistent, constant alignment with all members of team in Greenfield, Indiana.
• Maintain an environment open to change and innovation, recognizing improvements in existing tools and anticipating new technologies to deliver world class analytics and maximize effectiveness undefined

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor's Degree in quantitative or management field. (Master’s preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience in Data Science, Commercial Effectiveness.
• Expertise in statistical modelling techniques - A/B testing, regression, clustering, classification, decision trees, forecasting.
• Knowledge of probability models, market basket, churn modelling, segmentation and customer analytics.
• Advanced skills in Python, R and advanced excel.
• Proven analytical/problem solving skills with strong learning agility.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Experience with Tableau, SQL.
• Experience with Azure ML & Model Deployment.
• Experience with GitHub.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated excellence in Power Point and storyboarding.
• Project management experience across multiple business functions.
