Ciklum India is seeking a Senior Data Quality Engineer to join our India team on a full-time basis. You will work with cross-functional teams to validate data pipelines, warehouses, and data platforms, ensuring data quality across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers.

Responsibilities include validating BI dashboards, performing source-to-target reconciliations, and supporting AI/ML model validation and GDPR/CCPA compliant testing.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT and data loads.
• Advanced SQL with complex joins, window functions, and reconciliations.
• Experience with at least one modern data platform and an orchestration toolchain.

Responsibilities

• Data pipeline / ETL-ELT testing across batch and streaming pipelines.
• Data warehouse and lakehouse validation: schema, completeness, accuracy, timeliness.
• Source-to-target reconciliation between operational systems and data platform.
• Data quality automation integrated into pipelines or CI/CD.
• BI and reporting validation against certified sources.
• Data migration and conversion testing for platform initiatives.
• Regression testing of data models and semantic layers when schemas change.
• Testing of AI ML models and Conversational BI with deep reasoning.
• Data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and incident triage.
• Compliance-aware testing for customer/transaction data (CCPA/GDPR, PCI-DSS).

About The Role

As a Senior Data Quality Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

• Data pipeline / ETL-ELT testing: validation of ingestion, transformation, and load processes across batch and streaming pipelines
• Data warehouse and lakehouse validation: schema, completeness, accuracy, uniqueness, referential integrity, and timeliness
• Source-to-target reconciliation: row counts, aggregate balancing, and field-level validation between operational systems (POS, e-commerce, OMS, ERP) and the data platform
• Data quality automation: automated data validation frameworks (Great Expectations, dbt tests, Soda, or custom SQL frameworks) integrated into pipeline orchestration and CI/CD
• BI and reporting validation: testing dashboards and reports - metric definitions, aggregations, and drill-down accuracy - against certified sources.
• Data migration and conversion testing in support of platform initiatives
• Regression testing of data models and semantic layers when upstream schemas or business rules change
• Testing and validation of AI ML models plus Conversational BI including deep reasoning
• Data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and data incident triage support.Compliance-aware test practices for customer and transaction data (CCPA/GDPR, PCI-DSS), including masked/synthetic data usage

Requirements

• Hands-on professional experience testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse/lakehouse loads - not merely application testing of data-adjacent features
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex joins, window functions, and aggregate reconciliation queries; proficiency will be verified during interviews and/or a practical assessment
• Experience with at least one modern data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Incorta, BigQuery, or Redshift) and one orchestration/transformation toolchain (dbt, Airflow, Informatica, or Spark)
• Experience building or operating automated data quality checks (Great Expectations, dbt tests, Soda, or custom frameworks) integrated into pipelines or CI/CD
• Experience validating BI dashboards and reports against certified data sources
• Experience validating AI ML models plus Conversational BI (text to SQL) including deep reasoning
• Retail data domain exposure (e.g., sales/transaction data, inventory, product/merchandising hierarchies, customer/loyalty data) - strongly preferred
