Logward, a Shippeo company, seeks a Senior Data Integration Engineer based in Bangalore, India. The role balances hands-on data pipeline work with strategic technical consulting as automation tools evolve, including client workshops and architectural design discussions.

You will lead a small team in Bangalore, mentor engineers, review code, and contribute to production releases while advancing data integration capabilities with AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Integration Engineer with a proven track record of delivering as part of a team.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and data libraries; strong hands-on exposure to APIs, Airflow, JSON/XML, and flat files (CSV, EDI).
• Solid knowledge of coding best practices, OOP, data structures, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Excellent English communication; ability to mentor engineers and engage with clients.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering: build and maintain automated data pipelines in Python for large data volumes.
• System design: translate requirements into high-level architecture and implement.
• Team mentorship: lead and coach a Bangalore team, manage PRs and releases.

Job Description

As a Senior Data Integration Engineer at Logward (a Shippeo company), you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our engineering capabilities and shaping the technical direction of our data integration team. This position balances deep technical expertise with collaborative mentorship. Initially, you will work hands‑on to ensure the stability of automated pipelines, but as our internal AI capabilities and automation tools evolve, your position will dynamically transition into a strategic technical consulting role, engaging directly in client workshops and technical design.

Please Note: This role is based in Bangalore, India requiring 4 days per week in the office. As we operate internationally, we kindly request all candidates to submit their CV in English.

Contract Type: Full‑time / Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Hands‑on Engineering: Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well‑documented automated data pipelines in Python to process millions of data points.
• System Design: Translate complex customer requirements into high‑level technical architecture designs and convert them into working code.
• Team Mentorship: Lead, coach, and unblock a team of junior engineers in Bangalore, managing code reviews (PRs) and overseeing production releases.
• Technical Advisory: Partner with clients during project kick‑off phases to gather requirements, map technical architecture, and solve edge‑case integration defects.
• Strategic Automation: Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Product leads to leverage AI capabilities and internal tools, driving faster and more efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience: 4–6 years of dedicated experience as a Data Engineer or Data Integration Engineer, ideally with a proven track record of handling team delivery or technical coordination.
• Core Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Python and standard data libraries (Pandas, NumPy). Strong hands‑on exposure to APIs, Airflow, structured files (JSON/XML), and flat files (CSV, EDI) is required.
• Computer Science Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of coding best practices, object‑oriented programming principles, data structures, and relational/non‑relational database models.
• Communication & Leadership: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. You must possess the patience and clarity required to mentor junior engineers and confidently face client stakeholders.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Familiarity with basic cloud computing principles, preferably AWS services.
• Prior experience in the Supply Chain, Logistics, or SaaS enterprise software sector.
