Position Summary

Responsible for leading the delivery and execution of data engineering solutions in the delivery of the enterprise data warehouse and associated data marts and data lakes. This role focuses on the strategic integration and availability of enterprise data for analytical purposes such as reporting and AI. Leads a team of skilled data engineers, analysts, and quality assurance ensuring timely and effective access to well‑formed and integrated data sets. The role holder plays a critical role in operationalizing the Data Engineering vision and standards, ensuring that all solutions are aligned with FM’s data strategy and data architecture. This includes the design, development, delivery and support of databases, data pipelines, data lakes, and other strategic data assets. This role requires strong technical problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage production support and projects independently and collaboratively. Works with Global Core Platform Services, Database Reliability, Solution Architects, data engineers and other cross‑functional stakeholders to monitor systems health, troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensure reliability, as well as design, determine data access patterns, and supply data services.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver and support data engineering solutions by designing, building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise data warehouses, marts, and data lakes to support reporting and AI.
• Lead a team of data engineers, analysts and QA to ensure timely, high‑quality data delivery and integration.
• Operationalize best practices, data governance, security and quality standards across all data engineering deliverables.
• Partner with senior leads in Analytics & AI to align solution delivery with strategic priorities and contribute to enablement initiatives, best‑practice templates, and data frameworks.

Skill and Experience

• 10–15 years of experience required to perform essential job functions.
• Optional: 10 years’ experience preferred, 5+ years of proven top performance in leading technology or analytics organizations; coaching, mentoring, and developing high‑motivated teams; experience with Azure platforms including Synapse Analytics and Fabric.
• Expert technical expertise in database development, data modeling, SQL, DAX, and performance optimization; ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and project plans; strong leadership and team management skills; excellent organizational and project management capabilities; effective communication and collaboration skills.

Must Have Skills

• Kafka, Spark, Databricks, R, Python, Purview; familiarity with observability/monitoring tools, metadata management, and data governance policies (GDPR).

Education and Certifications

Requirements as typical for senior data engineering roles. Includes relevant degrees or certifications in computer science, data engineering, or related fields.
