Job summary

Media.net is seeking a Senior Data Application Developer in Bengaluru to own end-to-end data modules powering real-time bidding, reporting, and analytics. You will collaborate with data science, analytics, and platform engineering teams on high-scale data challenges.

You will design and optimize data pipelines, work with streaming platforms like Kafka and Flink, and ensure data reliability and governance across systems. Strong SQL, Big Data, and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in data engineering or backend roles with a strong data focus.
• Solid command over SQL and RDBMS concepts – query optimization, indexing, schema design.
• Hands-on experience with both GCP and AWS is required.

• Development and enhancement of data-heavy modules across ad serving, analytics, and reporting systems.
• Design, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines using a mix of SQL, NoSQL and Big Data tools.

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Application Developer, you'll own end-to-end delivery of data modules and platforms that power core business use cases across real-time bidding, reporting, and analytics. You will work closely with data science, analytics, and platformengineering teams. You’ll need a strong foundation in SQL and databases, coupledwith working experience on big data systems. This is a hands-onrole for someone who enjoys solving high-scale data challenges and driving execution.

• Design, optimize, and maintain scalabledata pipelines using a mix of SQL , NoSQL and Big Data tools

• Ensure best practicesaround data governance, schema evolution, and performance tuning

What You Bring

• 4–6 years of experience working in data engineering or backend roles with a strong data focus
• Solid command over SQL and RDBMS concepts – query optimization, indexing, schema design
• Hands-on experience with both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies – Iceberg, Spark, HDFS, Kafka, Airflow etc.
• Working knowledge on HBase and Redis.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with large-scale data processing, batch & stream pipelines, and performance tuning
• Ability to take ownership and drive outcomes while mentoring and growing a small team
