Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for major rail megaprojects in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building and maintaining the core data integration platform, developing ETL/ELT pipelines, and turning domain rules into SQL for BI insights.

You will integrate new data sources into the existing architecture and enhance data workflows, collaborating across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience using ETL/ELT tools for data integration.
• Experience using Python for data engineering (pandas, dbt).
• Familiarity with Snowflake data warehousing.
• Fluency in data modelling and SQL including window functions.
• Ability to extend data architectures end-to-end.
• Experience with Git version control.

We are looking for aSenior Data Engineer for rail megaprojects

You’llmake a difference by:

• Collaboration in the development of the core data integration platform for the largest Siemens project in history, along with other rail mega projects
• Developing new data integration workflows, along with extending and maintaining the existing ones
• Transforming domain-specific rules and know-how into SQL to extract business intelligence
• Integrating new source systems and processes into the existing data architecture using both ETL and ELT.

You’llwin us over by:

Qualification (minimum):

• Experience using ETL/ELT tools for data integration
• Experience using Python for data engineering, e.g. pandas and dbt
• Familiarity with the modern data warehouse technology Snowflake
• Fluency in data modelling and SQL incl. window functions
• Ability to work vertically across existing data architectures to accomplish new functionalities from end to end
• Never settling for the status quo: attitude to always improve, challenge, and optimize existing code/functionalities
• Experience using the version control system Git

Qualification (desired):

• Interest or experience in rail projects
• Experience with Alteryx for ETL data integration
• Frontend development expertise using JavaScript/TypeScript or React framework
• Experience utilizing low-code platforms such as Mendix or Power Apps for UI development
• Passion for user experience and application design
• Experience using the software development management tool Azure DevOps..
