Job summary

Role based in Pune office with an evening shift to support the North American team. Senior Data Engineer will design and implement a Data Warehouse as part of Vena's Enterprise Information Management program, focusing on scale and data-driven decision making.

We seek an experienced data engineer who can enforce standards, lead data initiatives, and partner with business teams to unlock value from data across products, marketing, and operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and deploying data integration workflows from multiple sources (HubSpot, Salesforce, ADP WFN)
• Experience with cloud DW tech like Redshift or Snowflake (Snowflake preferred)
• Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with data integration tools (Fivetran, Stitch)
• Ability to create source-to-target mappings and ETL transformations
• Experience with near real-time data pipelines and automated testing/CI/CD

Role based in Pune office 5 days a week with an evening shift from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST to support the North American team.

Are you looking to play an integral role in designing and implementing a Data Warehouse from the ground up? Vena has embarked on the journey of becoming a more data-driven organization and we realize that data is one of our most important assets. It’s an exciting time to join our growing Enterprise Information Management team, which is currently working on a large program to fundamentally transform the way we leverage data to drive business outcomes. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who will play an integral role in designing, implementing, monitoring and evolving our internal data platform with scale in mind.

We have many critical business systems and an ambitious data strategy to execute against to enable us to unlock value, insights and improve decision-making. The ideal candidate is both a data engineer and leader, who can design and enforce standards, best practices and methodologies, enable scalability of data engineering, quality assurance and analysis, and has strong interpersonal skills and can demonstrate the ability to work with nuanced data concepts.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

• Drive the execution of the technical vision of our internal Data Infrastructure.
• Evolve the maturity and the level of technical excellence across your group and the entire EIM organization.
• Build an all-inclusive data program that is source agnostic and brings together data from various business applications to provide product usage, marketing effectiveness, employee retention, LTV, all in one place.
• Create true agility within the data team to work sprint-by-sprint and build progressively, embracing the concept of MVP and backlogs.
• Design and implement strategies that will achieve growth and productivity through process automation of existing and new operating models.
• Create data models, data mapping and the necessary ETL design. Build and validate activities for various data integrations.
• Partner with key stakeholders teams to deliver a scalable next generation data architecture, and solid data engineering processes that align with corporate Security and Data Governance.
• Foster data-driven culture and the creation of related competencies and data literacy across the organization.

We\'d Love to See

• 4+ years of building and deploying data integration (ETL) workflows from multiple business applications (HubSpot, Salesforce, ADP WFN), databases, flat files, JSON/XML, APIs with proven working experience in an agile or scrum environment.
• Direct experience with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar cloud data warehouse technology. Snowflake is preferred.
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python and data integration tools such as Fivetran, and Stitch. Fivetran is preferred.
• Skilled in creating source-to-target data mapping and ETL transformation rules.
• Experience developing and/or managing near real-time data pipelines and fast data architectures.
• Experience with creating reusable ETL framework/components, automated testing, continuous integration and automated build pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling.
• The ability to influence through strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of complex business processes and subject matter, able to grasp and simplify the expression of complex scenarios in a way that helps business partners get to solutions;

The annual base salary range for this role is 3,845,976– 4,720,062 INR.
