Job summary

Bachatt, a fast-growing Indian fintech startup, is seeking a Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience to strengthen data reconciliation and large-scale data validation across systems.

You will design and implement reconciliation frameworks, robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and data quality controls in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams. This role is based in Gurugram, India.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a strong focus on data reconciliation.
• Hands-on expertise in SQL and large datasets.
• Experience designing and implementing reconciliation frameworks and processes.
• Understanding ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing concepts.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot data discrepancies and data quality issues.
• Experience with financial/transaction data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data reconciliation processes across multiple systems and data sources.
• Develop automated solutions to identify data mismatches, breaks, discrepancies, and missing records.
• Work with large datasets to perform transaction-level and aggregate-level reconciliation.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for processing and validating data.
• Investigate reconciliation breaks and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop SQL queries and data validation frameworks to identify anomalies and inconsistencies.
• Automate manual reconciliation processes and improve turnaround time.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to translate business rules into validation and reconciliation logic.
• Define and monitor data quality checks, controls, and exception-handling mechanisms.
• Maintain reconciliation reports, dashboards, and metrics for tracking unresolved discrepancies.
• Ensure data consistency across databases, APIs, third-party systems, and internal platforms.
• Collaborate to resolve data issues and contribute to improving data architecture, reliability, and observability.
