Job summary

British Council in India seeks a Senior MIS & Automations Analyst to support operations with advanced reporting, analytics, and automation. You will forecast workloads, build dashboards, and collaborate across teams to translate data into actionable insights for strategic decisions.

Work Schedule: This is a 24/7 on‑site role with rotating shifts, including night shifts. The position offers two days off per week, which may not always fall on weekends. Flexibility and adaptability to a continuous shift‑based environment are essential. There is no hybrid work arrangement for this position, and it requires working onsite five days a week.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for working with operations and delivery teams to understand their information needs and develop and maintain reports and systems to fulfill them in an accurate and timely way.

Role Accountabilities

We are looking for a highly analytical and results‑driven Senior Analyst – MIS & Automations to support operational excellence through workforce planning, forecasting, reporting, business analysis, and automation initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective utilisation of resources, delivery of operational targets, and provision of meaningful business insights that support strategic decision‑making.

  • Responsible for short‑term and long‑term workload forecasting, scheduling, and real‑time resource management.
  • Work closely with business planning teams to proactively manage workforce requirements and balance business demands and resource availability.
  • Develop accurate schedules that align with forecasted demand, business objectives, planned events, holidays, and operational constraints.
  • Analyse workforce performance data, including productivity, utilisation, occupancy, and forecast accuracy, to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage automation, technology, and process optimisation to improve planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall service delivery.
  • Support IELTS Operations reporting requirements and ensure reporting frameworks align with strategic priorities.
  • Identify and evaluate new reporting needs, recommend appropriate technologies and automation solutions, and develop structured reporting schedules for timely and effective distribution of business information.
  • Prepare insightful business analyses, including trend identification, root cause investigations, performance reporting, and scenario‑based modelling to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to understand business requirements and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ensure adherence to information security policies and compliance with ISO 27001 and IGA requirements, managing access controls, account provisioning and de‑activation processes, monitoring access levels, maintaining records in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, promoting security awareness, and resolving incidents within agreed service levels.

Further Information

Language: Strong English proficiency is crucial for this role, requiring fluency in both written and spoken communication to effectively navigate British Council systems and international operations. Interviews will be conducted primarily in English. The successful candidate must be able to speak and write well in English, as this is essential for the role.

Locally recruited: Applications are welcomed from candidates currently in this location with a natural right to work. Relocation support is not provided.
