Job summary

WSP India seeks a senior environmental consultant to deliver solutions for responsible consumption, circular economy, sustainable value chains and waste management for diverse clients. You will lead projects, develop policy and strategy, and contribute to due diligence and cost modelling with strong data analysis and communication skills.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience, a degree in environmental science or engineering, and a track record in consultancy or related industries.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant experience in environmental science, circular economy or sustainable resources and waste management.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and policy in the UK and/or internationally.
• Experience in a consultancy environment or similar industry.
• Strong skills in data management, analysis and interpretation.
• Excellent communication and research skills.
• Exceptional time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant sustainability-related subject.
• Preferred professional affiliation with UK bodies (ISEP, CIWM).

Responsibilities

• Deliver solutions for clients in responsible consumption, circular economy and sustainable waste management.
• Lead and provide support to clients across a wide range of resource and waste management themes.
• Engage in policy and strategy development, procurement, cost modelling, market analysis and due diligence.
• Conduct circular economy modelling and assessment.

A typical working week for this role will consist of delivering solutions for our clients, whilst furthering your knowledge and professional development, in the field of responsible consumption covering sustainable value chains, circular economy and sustainable resources and waste management. You will be involved in leading and providing support to clients across a wide range of resource and waste management themes, and clients, with a range of projects that could include:

• Policy and strategy development or review
• Infrastructure and services procurement
• Solutions review and options appraisal
• Business case development and cost modelling
• Market analysis and due diligence
• Circular economy modelling and assessment

Responsibilities

• 8-10 years of relevant experience. A background in environmental science, circular economy or sustainable resources and waste management and an enthusiasm for helping clients achieve more sustainable solutions.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and policy in the UK and / or internationally
• Relevant experience in a consultancy environment or other relevant industry
• Strong skills in data management, analysis, and interpretation
• Excellent communication and research skills
• Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage/deliver several projects at once
• A methodical approach to problem solving and a high level of attention to detail
• Your level of understanding and experience will be reflective of your grade.
• Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, expected to be in the field of environmental science, science, mathematics or engineering or another sustainability-related subject
• Preferably a professional affiliation with or membership of appropriate UK body (e.g., ISEP, CIWM)
