Job summary

Adobe is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Bengaluru to drive the technical vision for enterprise‑grade, cloud‑native applications using AI practices. You will architect scalable microservices, guide cross‑functional teams, and mentor engineers to deliver secure, high‑performing solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with 10+ years Java application development and Spring Boot expertise.
• RESTful microservices and event-driven architectures (Kafka) experience.
• Cloud-native development on Azure or AWS, with frontend skills in JavaScript and React.js.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational design, data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Hands-on experience accelerating development workflows with GenAI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot).
• Deep Agile (Scrum) delivery experience and integration with enterprise CRM platforms across various domains.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, unit-test, and deploy cloud-native microservices, event-driven integrations, and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Azure or AWS.
• AI tooling: apply AI development tools to elevate productivity, velocity, and code quality.
• Collaborate with BAs, QA, Operations, and Release Management across the full SDLC.
• Lead architecture reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor engineers through code reviews.
• Assist QA with validation and support operations in diagnosing production issues.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies like sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement.

Drive the technical vision and hands‑on execution for enterprise‑grade, business‑critical applications powered by cloud‑native architectures and cutting‑edge AI practices. As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will architect scalable microservices, leverage AI‑powered development workflows, mentor engineering talent, and partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performing enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Architect, build, unit-test, and deploy cloud‑native microservices, event‑driven integrations, and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Azure or AWS.
• AI Innovation: Continuously apply AI development tools and Agentic AI frameworks (Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to elevate developer productivity, delivery velocity, and code quality.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts, QA, Operations, and Release Management across the full SDLC, ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise architecture standards.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead architecture reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Production Operations & Support: Assist QA with functional validation and support Operations in diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
• Agile Excellence: Active participation in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

What You Need to Succeed

• Experience: 15+ years of overall IT experience with 10+ years of hands‑on Java application development and Spring Boot expertise.
• Architecture & APIs: Proven background building RESTful microservices, event‑driven architectures (Kafka), and distributed systems.
• Cloud & Frontend: Cloud‑native application development on Azure or AWS, combined with frontend proficiency in JavaScript and React.js.
• Data & Design: Strong knowledge of SQL, relational database design, data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented design principles.
• AI Tooling: Demonstrated, hands‑on experience accelerating development workflows using tools like Claude, Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot.
• Domain & Agile: Deep experience with Agile (Scrum) delivery and integration with enterprise CRM platforms (Salesforce, MS Dynamics 365, Adobe Workfront) across Revenue, Compensation, or Staffing domains.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to bridge technical trade‑offs with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Technical Core & Preferred Skills

• Core Stack: Java (Expert), Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, SQL, Azure or AWS.
• Systems & Security: OAuth2/JWT, performance tuning, observability/monitoring, application security, and enterprise design patterns.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Observability: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
• GenAI: Hands‑on exposure to GenAI technologies, LLM integration, MCP creation and building AI agents for enterprise applications.
