Job summary

WPP Global Technical Operations is seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer/DevOps/SRE with 10+ years of hands-on experience in GCP. You will architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, automate tasks using Terraform/OpenTofu/Terragrunt, and drive CI/CD practices across cross-functional teams.

You will collaboratively develop solutions, improve efficiency, implement security best practices, and contribute to on-call rotations in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience as Cloud Engineer/DevOps/SRE (GCP).
• Automation of tasks in a cloud environment using IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt).
• Experience with architecting GCP tenants and folder structures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work in cross-functional teams to develop solutions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Research, evaluate, and incorporate new technologies into existing frameworks.
• Automate deployment tasks to ensure consistency and speed.
• Develop and document operational practices and workflows.

As a member of the Global Technical Operations (TechOps), you will be a part of a team that focuses on operational reliability within a cloud-based infrastructure. You have hands‑on cloud experience in architecting, building, deploying, managing databases, compute instances, and storage buckets. You have a passion for providing solutions through automation. What you’ll be doing:

• Work in cross-functional teams to develop solutions and identify opportunities to bring efficiency and effectiveness.


• Research, evaluate, and incorporate new technologies/concepts into existing frameworks.


• Proactively identify areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness, recommend and implement solutions towards them.


• Develop and innovate operational practices, procedures for workflows, and documentation.


• Implement and contribute to IT security best practices.


• Automate tasks to ensure consistency and speed of deployment.


• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues and work towards resolution.


• Explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical people.


• Provide technical leadership/guidance to other members.


• Participates in on-call rotation.


• Work with a limited set of requirements.


• Context switch between assignments / projects and performing daily tasks.


• Act as a liaison and partner between TechOps and other groups.


• Pick up new responsibilities as required.

What you’ll need:

• Recent hands-on experience (10+ years) as a Cloud Engineer/DevOps/SRE (GCP).


• Proven work experience in automating tasks within a cloud-based environment, using infrastructure coding tools (Terraform, Open Tofu, Terragrunt).


• Experience with architecting GCP Tenants and folder structure


• Experience with architecting Infrastructure CI/CD pipelines


• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred).


• Experience with container orchestration and management platforms (Kubernetes, Helm).


• Solid understanding of networking concepts.


• Solid understanding of security concepts.


• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Stackdriver).


• Experience with at least one programming and/or scripting language (Go, Python or Bash).


• Skilled in presentation and documentation.


• Troubleshooting and analytical skills.


• Time and project management skills.
