Job summary

WSP in India seeks an intermediate to senior Structural Designer for its GCC India team, with locations in Bengaluru, Noida, and Mumbai. The candidate will contribute to structural CAD deliverables for infrastructure projects and utilities infrastructure, using Autodesk Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Responsibilities include creating construction drawings, 3D modeling, QC checks, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams. Prior experience with water/wastewater projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• 4–10 years of structural design experience.
• Proficient with Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Revit).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience with utilities water/wastewater projects.

Job description

We are seeking to recruit an intermediate to senior Structural Designer for our GCC India team located in Bengaluru, Noida and Mumbai to contribute to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Structure CAD project deliverables for infrastructure projects as per WSP CAD standards.
• Contribute to the growing utilities infrastructure CAD team delivering wet utilities (including wastewater sewage pumping station and water management structures for municipal service) in compliance with WSP Australia CAD standards.
• Prepare drawings, including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings for structures, using Autodesk Advance Steel software with quality and accuracy.
• Prepare structural drawings involving piling layouts and schedules, structural concrete drawings with rebar details, structural steel drawings, building architectural drawings, and fabrication drawings based on engineering instructions, government and regulatory codes.
• Develop 3D models and extract 2D drawings from 3D models.
• Conduct self-check of own work and follow internal QC process to deliver high-standard project documents.
• Perform revisions to engineering drawings as marked up by checkers and leads, verifying modifications are correct.
• Report progress of work assignments to immediate supervisor and understand the project schedule.
• Communicate with internal peers and project team and answer questions regarding deliverables.
• Revit MEP modeling is an asset (Revit Structural modelling occasionally).
• Perform CAD tasks as directed by the CAD Manager and engineer.
• Perform material and quantity take-off and underground utility coordination.
• Participate in design and provide input throughout the design process.
• Use Autodesk Vault software and support WSP Digital Engineering standard under ISO19650 and ISO27001.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
• Embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.
• Implement and maintain QA procedures, champion QA to improve processes.
• Multitask and manage multiple projects with accurate time estimates for individual scopes.
• Support sustainability initiatives and adopt alternate design technologies for a better environmental footprint.
• Be willing to develop and learn new skills and software, cross-disciplinary minded, and coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Coordinate with Australian lead offices as per project requirements.
• Identify improvements to enhance WSP service to clients and complete accurate timesheets by the set deadline.

Qualifications

• 4-10 years of experience in structural design.
• Diploma or degree in civil/structural engineering or relevant field.
• Experience with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM 360.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with utilities water pipeline projects (potable water mains, pumping stations, reservoirs, water sampling stations, bulk metering systems, chemical dosing systems, etc.).
• Experience with utilities wastewater and recycled water pipeline projects (gravity sewers, rising mains, pumping stations, emergency storage systems, odor control units, etc.).
• Experience with projects in Australia and New Zealand is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn new software and work across disciplines.
• Successful completion of a background verification (BGV) check conducted by a third‑party agency is required.
