Job summary

At Atlassian, the Connector Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the front door for third-party traffic, including authentication, admission, and the developer SDK. You will own reliability, mentor engineers, and partner across teams to scale integrations across the platform.

The role emphasizes designing and building components for API gateway, SDK tooling, and integration lifecycles, while advancing a declarative SDK and codegen pipeline for faster production-ready

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on software engineering experience, with end-to-end ownership through design, build, and operate for platform or infrastructure systems.
• Experience with or exposure to SDKs, schema/compiler systems, or declarative configuration engines.
• Experience building or operating gateway/edge systems handling authentication, traffic admission, and third-party integrations at scale.
• Comfortable owning a service or component end to end, from design through production.
• Comfortable with a contract-first, public-facing surface mindset.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Overview

Atlassian's Connector Platform organization powers how third-party data and applications connect into our products. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help lead the team that owns the front door for all third-party traffic entering the platform: request admission, authentication, connector lifecycle, and the developer SDK that takes a third-party integration from spec to production. You'll help drive down the time it takes to bring a new integration to production, while raising the bar on reliability and security for a system that sits on the public edge of our platform.
