Job summary

GitLab is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for Platform Insights. You will build and evolve core backend systems powering GitLab’s data platform, with Go-based development and a focus on reliable ingestion, storage, and query APIs across multiple environments.

You will own architecture decisions for Data Insights Platform, Siphon, and the Query API, while collaborating with Infrastructure and Data teams to ensure production readiness and robust observability.

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend services in Go and operating production systems.
• Ability to design scalable, reliable data-heavy systems.
• Experience building and evolving APIs and service integrations, incl. gRPC.
• Familiarity with data platforms, data pipelines, or foundational infrastructure.

Responsibilities
