The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals and identify necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
- Resolve high‑impact problems and projects through in‑depth evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards.
- Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow to develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how business areas, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
- Provide in‑depth analysis to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid‑level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the safeguarding of Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver work items in line with expectations.
- Implement solutions to identified issues and identify, estimate, and implement enhancements.
- Contribute to shaping the future technical direction of the product and provide development support in response to incidents and requests raised through support channels.
- Communicate project progress and promote achievements.

Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in applications development, systems analysis, or related roles.
- Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
- Subject‑Matter Expert in at least one area of applications development.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- 10+ years of commercial Java development experience.
- Experience developing and supporting mission‑critical applications.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems using a range of middleware and database products.
- Knowledge of FX and an appreciation of the full pricing lifecycle is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment impacting the banking industry is an advantage.
- Experience working in a mature development environment within a large collaborative setting.
- Understanding of the DevOps chain, including CI/CD and cloud deployment.
- Proficient in core Java development (Java 17 and beyond).
- Expertise in Unix (Linux) commands and scripting.
- Database skills – Oracle and exposure to NoSQL databases.
- Strong aptitude for analysis and problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, self‑motivated, and a willingness to learn and contribute to the wider team.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- A good academic background, with at least an undergraduate degree in a technical subject.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
