Position Summary

Job Title: Senior Backend Developer; Job Location: Noida.

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Backend Developer who can be part of the GEDU IT Engineering Team at GEDU, Noida. The candidate should preferably have worked as a backend developer in a software product development organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, development, customization and maintenance of software applications.
• Maintain a close working relationship with other application stakeholders, working closely with backend, web, product, design and customer teams to rapidly develop and ship features to production through 2–3 week sprints.
• Develop secure and high–performance backend solutions.
• Apply software development life‑cycle methodologies such as iterative, waterfall, agile, etc.
• Produce well–designed, testable, efficient, and fully functional code.
• Build features and API integrations that can scale to millions of users.
• Design database schemas that allow read/write operations at a scale of billions of rows per table.
• Design and build RESTful APIs for use in a front–end web application.
• Optimize code and database queries to maintain strict performance constraints.
• Participate in troubleshooting application issues.
• Collaborate with other teams and partners handling different aspects of platform creation.
• Track advancements in software development technologies and apply them judiciously in the solution roadmap.
• Ensure all quality controls and processes are adhered to.
• Plan major and minor releases of the solution.
• Ensure robust configuration management.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager on product lifecycle management.
• Demonstrate the ability to independently work in a fast‑paced environment requiring multitasking and efficient time management.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience developing secure and high–performance web applications.
• 5–7 years experience in backend development.
• Knowledge of software development life‑cycle methodologies such as iterative, waterfall, agile, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET Core 6.0 or 7.0 framework.
• In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET API, and C#.
• Experience building robust REST API endpoints and a sound understanding of backend concepts.
• Good knowledge of relational database technologies such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Sound knowledge of design principles.
• Experience with OOP, design patterns and n‑tier architecture.
• Experience with TDD, DDD, FDD, and BDD.
• Experience writing unit tests using xUnit or NUnit.
• High bar for writing clean, maintainable, scalable, and well‑tested code.
• Knowledge of ORM, API gateway, and API management.
• Experience with cloud services integration.
• Experience programming in LINQ and Lambda expressions.
• Experience in code review and refactoring according to industry best practices.
• Basic knowledge of integrating applications with single sign‑on services (e.g., Active Directory/LDAP authentication/SSO).

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
