Job summary

Kots Renting Pvt. Ltd. in Bengaluru, India, seeks a hands-on Senior Back-End Developer to write production-grade server-side code in Python, design REST APIs and manage data layers on AWS. You will own complex SQL queries and performance tuning, and ensure robust deployment and production support.

You will design and maintain Flask or FastAPI services, implement migrations, security, testing with pytest, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while mentoring less experienced developers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant, hands-on backend development experience.
• Python—REST APIs (Flask or FastAPI), not just scripting.
• SQL—write advanced queries; PostgreSQL and/or MySQL in production.
• AWS—deploying and running workloads (e.g., ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS).
• API security—JWT/OAuth2 and OWASP risks.
• Testing—write unit and integration tests with pytest.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services and REST APIs consumed by frontends.
• Write advanced SQL with multi-table joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Model schemas, design indexes, and tune slow queries with EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
• Plan and run migrations safely against live data.
• Handle authentication, authorization, and security of endpoints.
• Build background jobs, queues, and scheduled work with reliable retries.
• Write meaningful tests for code and modules shipped.
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot services on AWS; improve pipelines.
• Review peers' code and mentor junior developers.
