Job summary

UST in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate scalable, highly available Azure-based platforms.

You will own reliability, design AKS deployments, implement Terraform IaC, and drive automation, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborate with platform, development, and security teams to enforce SRE best practices, SLIs/SLOs, and postmortems, enabling resilient cloud operations.

Qualifications

• 6–13 years of IT experience with cloud, DevOps and SRE exposure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AKS and Terraform.
• Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring and incident management in cloud platforms.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong expertise in Azure, AKS, and Terraform to build, operate, and support highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms. The role focuses on improving system reliability, automating operations, enhancing platform scalability, and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions across Azure-based environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with platform, application, and security teams while driving operational excellence and reducing manual effort through automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, scalability, performance, and availability of Azure-based platforms and services.
• Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot production workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for Azure environments.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Lead incident response activities, root cause analysis (RCA), and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Implement monitoring, ing, and observability solutions to proactively identify and resolve operational issues.
• Automate operational workflows and routine platform management tasks to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Manage AKS clusters including deployments, scaling, node pool management, upgrades, and production troubleshooting.
• Support batch processing and scheduled workloads using Kubernetes Jobs and CronJobs.
• Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation, operational support, and administration activities.
• Collaborate with development, platform, and security teams to ensure reliable and secure cloud operations.
• Establish and promote Site Reliability Engineering best practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and postmortem reviews.
• Continuously improve platform resilience through automation and self-healing mechanisms.
