Apexon is seeking aSenior AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to lead VMware-to-Amazon EC2 migrations using AWS MGN or CloudEndure, covering discovery, assessment, planning, cutover, and validation within a Migration Factory environment.
You will assess VMware environments, define migration waves, install replication agents, monitor health, and coordinate cutovers while ensuring security, networking, storage, and DR readiness across AWS.

We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Migration Engineer with proven experience migrating hundreds to thousands of VMware virtual machines from on-premises data centres to Amazon EC2 using AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) and/or CloudEndure Migration. The role covers the full migration lifecycle, including discovery, assessment, wave planning, execution, cutover, validation, troubleshooting, hypercare, and optimisation within a structured Migration Factory model.
Assess VMware environments, infrastructure inventories, application dependencies, workload readiness, operating systems, storage, and networking.
Define migration waves based on business criticality, dependencies, maintenance windows, and recovery objectives.
Create migration runbooks, implementation plans, cutover strategies, rollback procedures, and risk-mitigation plans.
Execute VMware-to-Amazon EC2 migrations using AWS MGN or CloudEndure Migration.
Install replication agents and configure staging areas, replication settings, launch templates, security groups, storage, and networking.
Conduct pilot migrations and execute production migration waves under Migration Factory governance.
Monitor replication health and resolve agent, synchronisation, connectivity, boot, driver, launch, and performance issues.
Design and support AWS infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring, backup, and hybrid connectivity services.
Coordinate application shutdown, data synchronisation, DNS updates, cutover, stakeholder communication, and rollback activities.
Validate operating systems, network connectivity, storage mappings, applications, services, performance, security, monitoring, and backups after migration.
Support UAT, business sign-off, hypercare, disaster recovery testing, and operational readiness.
Maintain architecture diagrams, migration dashboards, RAID logs, progress reports, procedures, and knowledge articles.
Participate in architecture reviews and CAB meetings while improving Migration Factory processes and automation.
Proven experience delivering large-scale VMware-to-Amazon EC2 migrations involving hundreds to thousands of virtual machines.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) and/or CloudEndure Migration.
Experience across discovery, assessment, migration planning, replication, testing, cutover, rollback, validation, and hypercare.
Experience working within a structured Migration Factory model.
Strong VMware expertise, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server, HA, DRS, snapshots, datastores, virtual networking, and resource clusters.
Strong AWS experience with:
Strong troubleshooting skills across VMware, AWS, networking, storage, operating systems, and applications.
Experience creating runbooks, cutover plans, rollback procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.
Strong stakeholder coordination, change-management, risk-management, and production-cutover capabilities.
Experience with AWS Migration Evaluator.
Migration Factory automation and reporting experience.
Disaster recovery planning and testing experience.
Post-migration performance, resilience, security, operational, and cost optimisation experience.
