Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru seeks an experienced data engineering leader to design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS-based data platform services (EMR, S3, Glue, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and to build high-performance data pipelines.

You will mentor teams, promote best practices, work with analysts and data scientists, and drive data governance and cost-effective usage in healthcare-focused data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based data platforms on AWS.
• Extensive experience implementing big data technologies and modern Data Lakehouse architectures on AWS.
• Deep expertise in AWS services including EMR, Glue, S3, RDS, and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience building and automating scalable data pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Scala, and advanced SQL for large-scale data processing.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with serverless technologies including AWS Lambda.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AWS-based data platform services, including EMR, S3, Glue, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, using automated cloud deployment pipelines
• Build, monitor, and optimize high-performance data pipelines using modern big data frameworks
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams
• Establish and promote data engineering best practices, including data modeling standards, pipeline design, and cost-efficient data usage
• Partner with senior technical leaders, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable AWS-based data solutions
• Architect and implement advanced data solutions for data integration, transformation, governance, and application enablement
• Collaborate with domain teams to design physical data models and data mappings aligned with business and healthcare requirements
