United Airlines India Knowledge Center is seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer within Digital Technology. You will design, implement and execute automation strategies for enterprise software testing, collaborating with Quality Managers and Leads to ensure governance and KPI tracking.

This role emphasizes automation-first delivery and AI-enabled efficiency. You will lead automation artifacts, participate in risk assessments, and integrate frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of Test Automation experience.
• ISTQB / CSTE or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of automation and manual test strategies for software and systems with automation first approach.
• Collaborate with developers, QE analysts, and system engineers to ensure quality from test planning to production deployment.
• Own and maintain automation artifacts, tools, licenses & framework; govern standards and perform automation audits.
• Identify and mitigate testing risks and issues; manage KPIs and dashboards (Power BI).
• Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines in AWS/GCP or similar.
• Leverage Gen AI to drive efficiency in end-to-end testing.

Job Overview And Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer for Digital Technology at United Airlines, you will be responsible for the delivery of enterprise software testing projects and programs, operation and capital projects with automation first approach. In this role, you will design, implement, and execute automation test approach and strategies and frameworks for all deliverables. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Quality Managers and Quality Leads to implement quality governance, quality gates, risk assessment, production signoffs, key metrics (KPIs), and tools selection.

You should have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Additionally, you should be well versed in using Gen AI to bring in innovation/efficiency in your role and responsibilities.

• Lead the design and implementation of automation and manual test strategies for various software and systems utilizing best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with software developers, QE analysts, and system engineers to identify system requirements and ensure quality is met from test planning to production deployment with automation first approach.
• Own and maintain automation artifacts, tools, licenses & framework. Govern automation standards & best practices. Conduct automation audits and assess ROIs.
• Manage and mitigate testing related risks and issues.
• Identify and maintain testing KPI's, track trends and own the power BI reports.
• Integrate automation frameworks with continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Leverage AI when contributing to end-to-end testing (Automation frameworks etc.)

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
• 4 years of relevant work experience
• 6+ years of Test Automation experience.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner

ISTQB / CSTE or similar

• Programming Language expertise – Java
• Design, Develop and maintain scalable hybrid test automation frameworks (BDD/JUnit/TestNG)
• Ability to architect solutions across the stack: Web(Selenium), API(RestAssured), Mobile(Appium)
• Experience with Containerization and Cloud Execution Grids (BrowserStack, Sauce labs, Selenium Grid)
• Design Patterns and Framework Design Concepts
• Agile & Waterfall Methodologies and STLC across, Release Management
• Create/Support DevOps CICD implementation in AWS/GCP or similar
• Test Data Modeling and Data level testing with RDBMS or NoSQL based structure
• Able to work with distributed global teams.
