Job summary

Ciel HR in Bengaluru is seeking an Automation Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on test automation experience. You will work on Selenium, WebdriverIO, and Playwright using Java/JS/TS to build robust automation suites.

You will apply BDD with Gherkin in production codebases, harness AI-assisted tooling for code and test generation, and contribute to API testing and CI/CD integration. Strong debugging across browsers and networks is essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of hands-on test automation experience.
• Proficient in Selenium, WebdriverIO and Playwright with Java/JS/TS.
• Practicing BDD in production codebases using Gherkin.
• Experience coding with AI agents using LLM-based tools to write, refactor, debug, or generate code/tests.
• Experience in API testing (REST/GraphQL) and tools such as Postman or REST-assured.
• CI/CD integration of automated test suites.
• Strong grasp of test strategy, test pyramid, BDD/Gherkin, page object model, and data-driven testing.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Solid debugging across browsers, network layers, and asynchronous TS/JS code.

Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

• 4-5 years of hands-on experience in test automation engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Selenium, WebdriverIO (WDIO) and Playwright with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Demonstrated experience practicing Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) in real production codebases not just familiarity with the concept.
• Practical, day-to-day experience coding with AI agents using LLM-based tools to write, refactor, debug, or generate code and tests.
• Experience in performance/load testing, with capabilities in Gatling and Karate (preferred); NeoLoad and LoadRunner are optional.
• Solid understanding of API testing (REST/GraphQL) and tools such as Postman or REST-assured.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong grasp of software testing fundamentals: test strategy, test pyramid, BDD/Gherkin, page object model, and data-driven testing.
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
