Job summary

Cerebra in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer AI & Developer Productivity to design and build internal tools, automation frameworks, and AI-assisted platforms. You will be a hands-on coder driving productivity with modern automation stacks, Playwright, Cypress, and AI-powered tooling, collaborating across engineering teams to automate repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of software/automation engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on programming experience, preferably Python.
• Experience with Playwright / Cypress / Selenium.
• Experience with Pytest / Robot Framework.
• API testing/automation using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of automation framework design and development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Practical exposure to AI tools, LLMs, AI-assisted development, or AI agents.
• Strong problem-solving and engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable automation frameworks and internal engineering tools.
• Build automation solutions that improve developer productivity and engineering workflows.
• Develop and maintain UI, API, regression, and end-to-end automation.
• Work with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Pytest, Robot Framework, and Postman.
• Develop automation scripts and utilities using Python or similar programming languages.
• Leverage AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, prompt-driven development, and AI-assisted coding to accelerate engineering activities.
• Create and maintain CI/CD automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Build solutions for test execution, release validation, reporting, trace/log analysis, and engineering workflow automation.
• Collaborate with developers and engineering teams to identify repetitive tasks and automate them.
• Work with APIs, cloud-native environments, Kubernetes, observability tools, and modern DevOps practices.
• Independently handle ambiguous problems and deliver usable tools/frameworks.

Job Description:

We are looking for a strong Automation/SDET Engineer with solid programming and software engineering skills to build internal tools, automation frameworks, developer productivity solutions, and AI-assisted engineering platforms.

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on builder who can independently design and develop practical automation solutions, leverage modern AI/LLM tools, and solve complex engineering productivity problems. This is not a traditional QA-only role.
