Job summary

Oaktree is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Engineer to join our Product Engineering group in Hyderabad. You will design and build an Azure-based, data‑driven platform supporting credit investments, working directly with stakeholders and engineers across time zones.

You will own data pipelines and backend services, contribute to the architecture, and engage in hands-on coding across the stack while mentoring peers and driving end-to-end delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Proven success as Senior, Staff, or Principal Engineer in cloud-native platforms.
• Expertise in C#, .NET Core/.NET 8+, REST APIs, gRPC, and modern backend practices.
• Strong full-stack skills with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks.
• Azure cloud, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD practices.

Position Summary

As a Associate in Product Engineering, you will be joining our newly established Product Engineering group. This is a senior individual contributor role that will play a critical part in designing and building the next‑generation technology platform supporting Oaktree's credit business-one of the firm's largest and most sophisticated investment strategies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong ownership of business‑critical, distributed production systems.
• Proven success as a Senior, Staff, or Principal Engineer designing and delivering complex enterprise, cloud‑native, and financial technology platforms.
• Expertise in C#, .NET Core/.NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, REST APIs, gRPC, and modern backend development practices.
• Strong full‑stack development experience using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks to build scalable, responsive web applications.
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object‑oriented design, distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience building data‑intensive applications, including data modeling, event‑driven architectures, ETL/data pipelines, and real‑time processing solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one compiled language (e.g., C#, Java, Go, C++, Scala).
• Hands‑on experience designing microservices, API‑first architectures, domain‑driven design (DDD), and messaging platforms such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
