Job summary

Ares Management Corporation in Mumbai seeks a Senior Associate for its US Public Credit accounting team. You will oversee day-to-day accounting for a publicly traded BDC and report NAV per share for multiple registered investment companies.

The role involves coordinating with fund administrators, auditors, and internal teams to ensure timely monthly and quarterly financial reporting under US GAAP. Strong Excel skills and accounting software experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and CA Qualified.
• CPA equivalent a plus.
• Minimum 7-9 years of post-qualification accounting experience.
• Experience with Advent Geneva or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• US GAAP understanding and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of US GAAP financial statements for monthly reporting and quarterly and annual SEC filings.
• Assist in liaising with internal/offshore resources, fund administrators and auditors to meet reporting deadlines.
• Oversee and review NAV packages from the fund administrator.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly close process and reconciliations.
• Review of NQ, NCSRS and NCSR reporting for the funds.
• Review of monthly NPORT reporting.
• Provide compliance reporting (Form PF, ADV, etc.).
• Interact with portfolio managers, investor relations, operations, tax, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate on monthly/quarterly expense allocation and recovery for funds.
• Manage daily cash activities for a publicly traded BDC and post to GL.
• Prepare/review cash/par reconciliations for all entities.
• Assist in basic treasury functions.
• Participate in process improvement projects.
• Ad-hoc projects.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with preparation of US GAAP financial statements for monthly reporting and quarterly and annual SEC filings.
• Assist in managing relationships and liaising with internal resources, offshore resources, fund administrators and auditors to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines.
• Oversee and review daily and monthly NAV packages from the fund administrator.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly close process and preparation of various financial statement account balance reconciliations and workpapers.
• Review of NQ, NCSRS and NCSR reporting for the funds.
• Review of monthly NPORT reporting
• Provide compliance reporting (Form PF, ADV, etc.)
• High level of interaction across the organization, including communications with portfolio managers, investor relations, operations, tax, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to manage monthly and quarterly expense allocation and recovery functions between investment funds.
• Manage daily cash activities for a publicly traded BDC, including processing of payments, depositing of checks, and posting to the general ledger.
• Prepare/review monthly cash/par reconciliations for all legal entities.
• Assist in basic treasury functions.
• Participate and contribute to regular review of processes and deliverables to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Various ad-hoc/special projects.

Ares Management is seeking a Senior Associate for our US Public Credit accounting team. The Senior Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and oversight of a publicly traded business development company (“BDC”) and accurately reporting the daily net asset value per share for several publicly traded regulated investment companies of the 1940.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and CA Qualified
• Certification:
  • CPA equivalent a plus
• Experience Required:
  • Minimum 7-9 years of post-qualifications experience in accounting/cash management preferred.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Advent Geneva investment accounting software or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus.
