Job summary

BDO India, part of the global BDO network, seeks a Financial Planning and Analysis professional in Mumbai. You will assist in budgeting, forecasts, variance analysis, and automation of reporting to support strategic decisions.

You will prepare MIS and dashboards, analyse revenue, margins and costs, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant financial reporting across entities.

Role & responsibilities

Financial Planning

• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and long-range business plans.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts.
• Support rolling forecast and scenario planning exercises.
• Conduct variance analysis of actual performance against budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Support financial planning activities through automation of reporting and forecasting processes.

Business Performance Analysis

• Conduct variance analysis between Actuals, Budget, and Forecast.
• Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability.
• Perform ratio analysis to evaluate financial performance, liquidity, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop actionable recommendations for management.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Ensure compliance with IND AS and applicable Accounting Standards in financial reporting.
• Support preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in consolidation of financial statements across entities and business units.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely financial reporting.

Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly MIS and management dashboards.
• Generate business performance reports for senior leadership.
• Present financial insights using charts, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
• Track business KPIs and operational metrics.
• Develop and automate MIS reports to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and financial automation.
• Leverage Excel, Power BI, and other automation tools to streamline reporting and analysis.
• Enhance data accuracy, governance, and reporting efficiency through automated solutions.
